I have been studying tae kwon do since 1979. I've had great teachers--Master Young in North Miami was legendary--but the best teacher of martial arts I have ever seen is Carlos Rodriguez. Both my daughter and I have studied under Carlos's tutelage for nearly ten years. I have great intuition about what each of his students needs to improve, and he runs a terrific program. He is a skilled martial artist--I don't know of anyone who ever beat him in a tournament--and a great all-around person. If you are at all interested in the martial arts, this is the place to go.

His parents run after school programs and summer camp. They are the absolute warmest most beautiful souls on the planet. His wife black belt miss Debbie has boot camp on weekends. Mr. Tim is his side kick also a black belt molding minds and teaching the beautiful ancient sport. I cannot express how much of an effect they have had on my family my daughter I just want to say thank you so much for giving me my daughter back

I have known Master Carlos for 30+ years. We trained together for many years and I have also trained under his direction in his school. He is dedicated to his students, he is dedicated to the parents. He is fair and patient. He pushes you in a good way. He builds confidence in your ability. Tim is also a very good teacher. He is kind and patient with the kids. Carlos runs a very respected school. They are the best!

Best instructor anyone could ask for. All other assistants and black belts are always helpful. The environment is friendly and inviting. You do learn a lot while being apart of a taekwondo class because they take the time to explain things to you

A great School
Master Carlos is by far the best Taekwondo instructor in town. We have had my 6 year old training with him for a year and we have seen a huge improvement in him socially, physically, and emotionally. My son loves coming to train and the family owned environment and atmosphere is very warm and welcoming. We have been to other Taekwndo schools with our son, and none compare to this. We go out of our way to come here. Highly recommend!!
My kids started in 2008 and have loved every class! When we've had to stop at times, they beg to go back. They've learned amazing self defense from instructors that have incredible talent, passion and dedication. It's become their second home and they've made incredible friendships!

A great place that really cares about its students
I have been training with Master Carlos for the past thirteen years and have loved every second of it. Having trained since I was a child, Taekwondo has taught me many valuable life lessons such as discipline and self-confidence. Even as an adult, I am always excited to come to class and learn new ways to push my body and become a better martial artist. In addition to providing a great and effective workout, Master Carlos has established a friendly and welcoming environment for both learning and making friends. The Black Belt Center of Tamarac is like a second family to me. I would highly recommend for any and all age groups looking to exercise and have a great time doing it.

The students (and parents) LOVE them! We've looked at many other schools in the area, but the instruction just does not compare! So glad we came across this place! There are not enough words to express how wonderful Master Carlos and team are! My daughter and I started training with them when she was 3. She’s now 7 and still talks about her Tae Kwon Do family and that’s exactly what it is. From the minute you step foot in the door there is a feeling hard to describe. Not only do you leave feeling empowered, but the values and lessons they teach are priceless. They truly have a passion and it shows in everything they do. They are incredible teachers, mentors and friends and I’m just so blessed we found them! ❤️
My son has trained at this school for five years! My family moved two years ago; out of curiosity I checked out a few schools CLOSER to my new home ONLY to avoid the Sawgrass Expressway, but NONE compared in affordability OR instruction, so we're driving eleven miles, passing several martial arts schools in order to continue the consistently detailed EXCELLENT instruction we've been receiving here! The instructors are very personable, knowledgeable and fun! They LOVE Tae Kwon Do; they LOVE teaching it, and it shows! The students enjoy being here! My son loves all the games, crafts, additional training and trips summer camp has to offer as well! I'm comfortable leaving my son here with friends he's made and trained with throughout the years! I recently started boot camp/physical fitness here and after just two classes, I feel GREAT! It's been a blessing, and I'm proud to be a part of this extended family!
